JD ... Like Jonathan Dassin ... The question never arose, from an early age, Jonathan knew that music would accompany his life. Like his brother Julien, both inherited a name that still resonates in the hearts of the public: grandson of a genius film director Jules Dassin, son of the unforgettable Joe Dassin, their childhood was nevertheless more punctuated by travels than by musical education. The West Indies and Greece, where their mother takes them regularly, will undoubtedly offer Jonathan a taste for warm music very early on. At the age of 16, he left the high school where he was before graduating. in Belgium. He left for Belgrade and discovered Slavic influences and developed a passion for the trumpet, followed by a year in Tahiti, a foundational period in his life, he says. Meetings and local energies inspire him many melodies and texts, including “distant country.” On his return, thanks to the trumpet, he joined the group “Nassara”. For nearly 5 years, at their side, he familiarized himself with soukouss, zouk, reggae, African and Caribbean music. They are often on stage, including a memorable evening as the opening act for the Wailers. Jonathan Dassin sums up his first album: “This first album is not titled, it's an eponymous album. It cannot be called because it is not an idea, but the summary of this slice of life, with its perpetual transformations. It's kind of my story, my work, my passion ”. This first album will lead Jonathan on the roads of Central Asia where he will make numerous tours. He will also have the opportunity on several occasions to tread the boards of the mythical Olympia in Paris, responding in particular to the invitations of Patrick Sébastien. In 2020, to pay tribute to his father Joe Dassin who died 40 years ago, Jonathan participates alongside many artists on the album "A toi" whose first single, performed by Axelle Red and Ycare will be released during the summer. The album will be released during the fall. He will lend his voice on the title "Marie-Jeanne" and in duet with the artist Carla on "Siffler sur la Colline". Surrounded by an international team Jonathan is preparing his new album, recorded partly in Germany, which is scheduled for release at the end of the year.
